Oh, that warranty's been gone for 12,000 miles now. The drivetrain warranty is good for another 12K though...another seven months or so at this rate...

Checked the brakes Monday and they are fine. The leading edge of the pads in front are a little brown and burnt looking, but still plenty of pad left. The squealing sound went away after a few miles on the road.

While checking all the fluids I found out something about the car. There is no dipstick under the hood to check the transmission fluid. Would like to be able to keep an eye on that.

It is a pain to check the fluid in a manual transmission. Jack it up, pull the plug in the side, stick your finger in to see if it is full. A dipstick would be so much easier.

Go buy a transmission or oil dip stick and a tube to pipe thread adapter. Replace the fill plug, bend the tube so the fluid won't drain out, cut the tube and stick to length, then connect it to the adapter. Couple of clamps or zip ties and presto, instant dip stick.

Maybe you could make these for your friends on the forum. Hypermotive could sell them to the rest of the world.

SUPPOSEDLY you shouldn't need to check your tranny fluid...according to Ford. No dipstick for the autos either.

That is almost as strange as the no gas cap deal.
