Default Another visit to Pro Dyno

I took the 2005 GT down to Dan at ProDyno to get a custom tune done. It all started about 3 months ago when I took it to the drag strip, and I was amazed at how slow it was. The trap speeds were at least 4 mph slower than I had EVER seen a stock 2005+ Mustang run. It had some off brand CAI on it and I don't know if it had ever been tuned, so I got John and Jay to get me a JLT CAI, and today I headed down to Dans to let him tune it. I was very pleased with the results, ended up making 297/320 to the wheels. Not too bad considering the car was only rated at 300 hp at the flywheel to begin with... Dan told me he could have probably gotten another 10-12rwhp out of it, but I was cheap skate on the way down and didn't fill up with premium fuel. The lack of octane kept us from "breaking the barrier". Was nice to hang out with Steve (SHS) again today, and Michael (Poppacap) stopped by for a while too. Luckily, BBLB ddn't do any harm to anyones leg this time.

Anyway, here's a video....

Right on. Glad the CAI made it in time.

Very nice. Very respectable numbers considering that it's basically stock.

I can't imagine going from "The red monster" to the "Blue Baby" though.

Thanks. Yeah, to say that the difference between driving the two is "night and day" is still a pretty big understatement.

Its also impressive that it is almost 8 years old and exceeding factory spec, admittedly modded but still. Didnt happen to get a baseline did ya?

No, didn't do a basline. I honestly don't think it would have been a good number just because of how sluggish the car was at the track. There was definitely something up with it, it would never really pull in the higher rpm's like it should have.

So I take it that it feels better now in the upper range?

Much better. The 4.6s 3vs really make their power in the higher rpm range, and my car really seemed like it was running out of steam up top. It never really "pulled" to redline, it just kind of "got there", if that makes any sense. Now, it pulls noticably harder throughout the rpm range. Dan does it again!! Can't wait to get back to the track and see the difference in mph.
