Sorry for your loss, it's amazing how much a dog can impact your life. I know it's like losing a human family member. At least he went pain free in his sleep, no suffering.

I guess this kinda spoiled the excitement over the new pup. Did she like her new puppy?

Sorry to hear that bro.... Very unexpected, but at least he went peacefully.

So sorry to hear about your loss. I know how hard it is for the whole family.

Sorry to hear of the loss Jason...
Always a sad day when our pets pass...it's easy to forget sometimes how seamlessly they meld into our lives, until they are gone.

There are several versions of this song, I remember reading it long ago and now I am reminded of it.

Well old Blue died, and he died so hard
Till he shook the ground in my back yard
Old Blue died and I laid him in the shade
I dug his grave with a silver spade
I lowered him down with a golden chain
And link by link slipped through my hand

Go on Blue, you good dog you
Go on Blue, you good dog you

There's just one thing disturbs my mind
Blue's gone to heaven left me behind
And when I get to heaven, first thing I'll do
Grab my horn and call Old Blue
And if I hear that Blue dog bark
I'll know he treed a possum in Noah's ark

Go on Blue, you good dog you
Go on Blue, you good dog you

It seemed fitting somehow.

Thanks guys, he was a blue Merle great Dane. Such a good boy. He's being cremated, they gave me the option to bury him in our back yard but I would have to rent a backhoe, he was a big, big boy. He'll be missed for sure, been a bad last two months for the micallefs, we've lost two. But all is well under the circumstance. Thanks again guys!
