New, New Edge Drop Top in Upstate, SC
So this is kind of cool story about how I came into this car. I was helping my Mom buy a new car and I mentioned that I would love to buy her Mustang off of her but since the wife and I are getting ready to move I couldn't swing it. She said, I'll just give you the car. So I have a nice project car to play around with. It's a 2001 GT convertible in automatic with 190k on the odometer. The car still runs decently but there is apparently an issue where it loses power for short periods of time. If you have any guesses as to what that is, I'd love to hear it. The only pics I have are below which is where I left it when I put it up today.
The first thing is going to be some 1 on 1 time with me, the paint and a Porter Cable polisher. I've got to order some new headlights and the exterior should be good. I then plan to focus on the interior and get the seats re-covered and replace some interior parts that are a little tired. Hopefully the motor and transmission hold on for a couple years when I can drop a 4V crate motor and throw a super charger on there and maybe a 3.73 rear end. I want to keep it where the wife can comfortably drive it but keep the punks at bay when I drive.
It may not be the best use of money but I figure what the heck, the only money I'll have in the car is what I spend on it to make it what I want to. I'm sure I'll learn some stuff along the way and change all those ideas but I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone and talking Mustangs etc.

Looks pretty good for all those miles, congrats and welcome! We've got a bunch of detail gurus here and performance junkies so any technical things come up and we've got you covered!

Thank you, she kept it garaged and cleaned. I noticed whoever has been cleaning it scrubbed pretty good with a rag in a few places. I think I have all the wax and tools necessary to get those out...I'm a little OCD with that stuff. Mechanically I can learn but until then I don't know much.

Nice! It does look good for almost 200K on the clock. Like everyone has said, between the group of us we can tackle just about anything. I look forward to meeting you at one of our events.
