Anyone had to get your hood redone due to corrosion?
Noticed last week that the front edge of my hood has some bubbling on two spots. Took it to the dealer and they sent pics off to Ford. Got a call and SM said they would warranty it. My question is it worth it for them to do the work? I'm scared that having yellow blaze tricoat paint it going to be difficult to match. Also would they replace the whole hood or sand it down? I'd rather them get another hood for it. What are your thoughts?

That is really strange, our hoods are aluminum. You shouldn't have any corrosion, especially on a new car. Can you post some pics of the damage? I would imagine they would just repaint and like you would be concerned with a good paint match.

My 06 had that corrosion. I bought the car off an individual so it was a little dirty. Once i got it cleaned up i noticed the bubbles on the underside. I talked to a body shop owner in town and he said he had seen several of them do it. I took the hood off and repainted it.

Wasall the bubbling you guys had on the inside of the hood or outside? Just wondering if its on the inside if some fluids from the engine compartment could be causing it. Like a popped coolant hose or somethig.

Mine did the same thing. Took it to my local dealer 45 miles before warranty expired and they repainted it for free. There was a problem with the bonding material in the factory which caused this problem with so many cars not fluids from the engine. Good luck with getting it fixed.

mine was underside of hood. where the outside skin wrapes around and meets the underside. i dont think it was from any fluids. this is my opinion: that seam where the two skins meet use to be sealed with a seam sealer. i noticed that is not done anymore and i believe it allows water to get between the skins.
