I wish, but I used my vacation time already. I'm thinking about next year for sure.

I'm heading out about 530 to meet up for breakfast at cracker barrel, then starting wrenching at 8. Let me know if youre interested and you can follow me or hitch a ride if you want to keep your car down here. you can always come later in the day too, I know mornings aren't agreeable to everyone.

Thanks man. It happened on my second set of runs. My dad was riding with me, I was driving way to fast, but the run felt good. Right before the last turn my dad's finger hit the window button and I stupidly looked over and said "Oh, you gotta keep the windows down". When I looked back there was the last turn of the course.

Instead of just taking out the cones I foolishly tried to take the turn and started to slide. I put both feet in and pulled the e-brake but as soon as I hit the grass I spun and slid up against the tire wall. I may have been able to save it if I had straightened the wheel up, but I don't know.

Lots of nice green paint and I bent the rear quarter panel a little which caused the bumper cover to pop loose at the seam.

It could have been worse and thankfully my dad and I are fine. Some green paint came off with some elbow grease, but there's a good bit embedded in the paint. Body shop is supposed to fix it next week.

I've learned my lesson about driving faster than I or my car can handle.

I went ahead and finished my last 2 runs and by going slower actually improved my times...

I'll be back out there soon though.

Harsh, kinda sad but slow is king sometimes. I would have freaked out if I had done that. Guess I didn't see it because you were on the track while I was in the queue. We're planning a gtg (get together) down in Columbia sometime late July early August as well.

I've accepted it now, but you better believe I was sick for a few days after it happened. I'm not going to let it stop me though. No more trying to set records, I'm just going to go have fun and concentrate on improving my driving.

I don't think I'll make it to Charlotte, but I'll keep an eye out for the Columbia meetup.

Have you done any SCCA SC Region auto-x events? http://www.scsportscar.com/

The next one's is this Sunday@Darlington. I think I'm going to take a break this weekend but I'll probably head to the one in Charleston in August.

I can't keep track of them, the search function on the website is horrible. I'll be up for the charleston one if the date works out. The next CMP one is Oct 23. I don't think the rain is going to cooperate with us this sunday anyway.
