back pressure

Guys my 2.5 flow master super 44 mufflers don't seem to give me enough back pressure, if I down size to a 2-2.25 will that raise the pressure any

Why are you looking for more backpressure?

Sleeper_GT 12-22-2013 07:36 AM

Smaller exhaust will increase your back pressure.....I'm guessing your car feels slower with the new exhaust.....

88-347stroker 12-22-2013 08:16 AM

Yes on slower and exhaust popping when I let off the gas

88-347stroker 12-22-2013 08:17 AM

I was told 347s like a little back pressure

clowe1965 12-22-2013 08:26 AM

Yeah I've heard the same about the old push rods. Mine ran like crap until I put exhaust on it, guess it still runs like crap officially but I could tell a difference with the exhaust once the ringing subsided.

N/A motors like the back pressure.....Even with me being FI I could feel a power difference between the MBRP setups.....Car felt slower when I ran the straight pipes than with the mufflers.

So should switching to a muffler for 2.25 pipe do

clowe1965 12-23-2013 08:03 AM

You could also put in some high flow cats, it would be a bit easier than replacing all the pipe.

Sleeper_GT 12-23-2013 09:03 AM

High flow cats would be the better route.
