Totally makes sense. I'm at the very early stages of upgrades. I've only done a GT500 axle-back exhaust. Custom tune is step 2 for me.

I don't want to have the car dyno-tuned every time I make an upgrade. So, I think I'm sold on getting a tuner. I can get it dyno tuned when I'm done with all of the mods.

Yeah, that was my short term route too. If you decide to go "custom tune" plan out your mods in stages. This way you can get a chunk of mods done and get the "upgraded" tune bundled in with the parts & install.
It will save you $$$ in the long run, since most shops are willing to cut you a break for doing more mods at once.
