I don't know of anyone using a turbo 4 in that situation either. It should be interesting to see how it all plays out.

While the torque of the turbos can be tuned to come in early, throttle response offroad is still king. While "nearly non-existent" lag can work on the street, when you're trying to rock climb, not so well.

for 90% of jeep owners a 4 cyl would be fine, if you notice people have no problem breaking their **** in a 4 cyl non turbo tj/yj. Most of the offroading that happens is usually trail riding, not true "rock crawling". Lots of momentum. Also only pairing the 4 cyl with an auto will take out any of the throttle response issues you may have. For the soccer mom who is going to pick the cheapest jeep with the creature comforts, lots of those will sell, especially if they find some magic voodoo to increase the MPG with it.

Pretty much everyone on this forum is not going to get a turbo 4 cyl jeep. The ONLY way I'd consider it is if it came with a decent manual, got 25 mpg in stock form, and then only in the 2 door trim.

BTW dave fixed your pics, something with flicker. you have to remove the URL bracket section at the beginning and the two generated at the end, and just keep the IMG script.

True enough. The 4 cylinder option will most likely be a popular one.
Just like the ecoboost Mustang. While the whole new Mustang isn't my cup of tea they are selling them like crazy.

Thanks for fixing the pics. I'll have to remember that when I go to post pics in the future.

Yeah I wasn't sure it was going to work lol, had your post saved JIC.

I wish there was more designation between the v6 and the i4, nothing really there cept for the GT. I don't like the refreshed look at all. And they all look like they're carrying a body in the trunk, just kinda squatted in the rear. Course who am I to say anything with my jeep like wheel gap on my 2011.

Didn't they drop the v6 and only offer the I4 and the 5.0? I remember there was talk of it.

Nevermind. I just checked and yep, they still have the v6, Ecoboost and 5.0.

I just can't get past the back end of the car. I think the rear panel looks like a fish out of water gasping for air.

They dropped the v6 for 2018, if you go to build a 2018 you will see there is no v6 available.
