I'm just curious. I see these adds on pretty much every page. Does anyone use any of their products? Do you have noticeable/provable results? They seem to introducing a lot of products lately and quite honestly some of the claims sound a little "snake oil"-ish.

Money well spent? Peace of mind? Placebo effect? Don't want to start a war about what products are better or worse. Just curious is all.

I only use their gear oil.

You can use it just fine, I just won't pay that absorbent amount of money
when I can get Castrol 5-Quart bottles for much much less.

According to the owner's manual, only synthetic 5W-20 is supposed to be used in the 5.0
You can use 5W30 at the most, summer months for sure...

I don't recall any specific oil specification like, like Dexos for GM, or 502.00 spec oils
for Euro cars, and 507.00 for their diesels. Mobile 1 5W20 will be just fine.

Pretty much all synthetic oils are great these days. I wouldn't waste any money on it personally.

The color purple has been associated with royalty, power and wealth for centuries. In fact,
Queen Elizabeth I forbad anyone except close members of the royal family to wear it.
Purple's elite status stems from the rarity and cost of the dye originally used to produce it.

Royal Purple is dyed, plain and simple. For some odd reason, they even have a plaque on
the wall at their headquarters that shows they have a patent on the purple oil bottle.

From their FAQ:
Q: Does Royal Purple® maintain its purple color after it's put into service?
A: No. The dye that's used to color the oil dissipates shortly after being put into service.

It is another marketing gimmick like anything else.

All oils end up black anyway.

I bought some Royal Purple 'Ice' (or something like that). I added it to my radiator the day my 2011 v6 arrived and bought from my dealer in May 2010. I did a radiator flush a couple years ago and added another bottle. It's supposed to condition the bearings in the water pump and 'maybe' it does. My water pump is still working

I have used the HyperLube coolant additive, basically the same
thing, just neon yellow in color.

I wouldn't spend extra.

Just use 100% synthetic.
