Here's a picture of my engine bay, where is yours?
Since there is an interest in having a thread on top to show off our engine bays, I think we should make some basic rules. 1. Try to get the best shot of your engine bay as you can. 2. List what you have. In other words which engine, which uprades if any etc. We will pin this to the top so that everyone on here can see pics of our engine bays and ask the owners questions about how they achieved the performance and look that they did. This is just for engine bays. We already have a pin for the whole cars.
Here's mine to start. 1965 289 C code basically stock with a shroud, Monte Carlo bar, Export brace and radiator overflow tank. http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL160.../267705682.jpg |
RE: Here's a picture of my engine bay, where is yours?
I'll contribute. I posted these in the last engine bay thread.
Bay - stripped and sandblasted, etching primer, laquer primer, then a semi-flat black. (sprayed with HVLP gun, not a rattle can) Engine - rebuilt 351w (original to car), bored .04 over. Edelbrock performer intake with edelbrock 650 cfm carb (electric choke), plus a high volume aluminum water pump. I put an export brace on, and eventually a monte carlo bar. Also have a stock style 3-row radiator rather than the original 2-row. Oh I aslo have a 100 amp alternator. EDIT, forgot, also have MSD 8.5mm spark plug wires, new cap and rotor, and pertronix ignition (now blown :() http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1.../engine1-1.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1.../engine2-1.jpg |

RE: Here's a picture of my engine bay, where is yours?
Car- 66 Mustang- Project- 66JameStang and JMD,
Well I want to give you the overall picture of my engine and bay even though it is not complete yet. The car started out with an inline 6 and was driven for awhile before my brakes went out. I have since replaced it with a monster. The engine bay took time: Here is a picture of the engine and bay when I baught the car- http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w...s/IMG_1105.jpg It was a rough starting point but it really helped. From here we of coarse started by removing the engine and proceding with clean up. Before really starting I pulled the wiring harness out of the vehicle because I wanted a clean spray through out the car and especailly the bay. After the harness was removed I started scuffing but realized it was going to be a large task. We decided to use aircraft remover to strip the paint and it worked really well. http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w...0415072004.jpg http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w...310071659a.jpg At this point we cleaned it up a bit more and laid down the primer.. http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w...s/PICT1310.jpg http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w...s/PICT1309.jpg I don't have a picture but we purchased bed liner and laid it down in most of the engine compartment and added texture. The bed liner was black but the paint laid downnice on top of it. We used single stage dupontpaint. http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w...s/PICT1312.jpg http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w...s/PICT1313.jpg The engine that was built for this car was built from the ground up. Engine- 351 Windsor- Tore down- came from 1970 LTD Exhaust manifold- Victor Jr Intake Manifold- Edlebrock Air Gap Forged Crank and pistons H-Beam rods Stroked to 408 Cam- Carburater- Demon Roller Lifters Distributer- Mallory http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w...s/IMG_1195.jpg Painted the block silver the same silver as the bay. http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w...s/IMG_1207.jpg The oil pan has been changed because it was too small for new internals http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w...s/IMG_1215.jpg http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w...s/PICT1319.jpg It is still not finished yet but it is coming along the wires are not where They are gonna be yet and some things still needto be moved around. I will post more as we finish it. http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w...s/IMG_1637.jpg http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w...s/IMG_1639.jpg http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/i...ang/engine.jpg http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/i...ginesmall1.jpg |
