Default Car Cover Suggestions

Hi Guys,

I am looking for a good car cover for a 1966 Mustang Coupe.

I want something that fits well, is waterproof, breathable, and will not blow off in a wind storm.

If you have any experience with car covers, please share it with me.

Thank You,
Jay

I bought a 4-layer CoverBond4 from NPD (see page 44) for use over the next few months. Cost was 89.95. It's a nice outdoor cover which should last. Please do NOT expect any car cover to be waterproof. They will all allow water penetration in driving rains or long showers. Most say waterproof but are water resistant. What happens in a good cover is that they breath enough to wick the water away from the cars surface after the rain and dry quickly. This is the least expensive cover I'd look at if your looking for a decent cover for outdoors. Anything less and your wasting your money imo as they don't protect or last. A cheap 2 layer will quickly mark your paint, rip, tear and be useless within 2 years at most.

I bought it for use until our custom fit Noah cover is made. They don't offer a 67/68 Shelby coupe fit cover but I've been talking to them regarding the proper fit and measurements. Basically the Shelby fastback length and fit with the rear modified for the rear coupe window, no upper side scoops and 2 side mirrors.

I bought one of the more expensive NOAH covers for mine. It sat on the car, out in the driveway all through winter blizzards, though the raining spring and not one problem. The only thing I needed to do was used a really small bungee cord on the front to keep it from blowing off in our 40-50 mph winds. Water hasn't seeped through the cover any of the times I checked either. Completely worth it for me.

Those covers from NPD do look good.

Just curious, in the pictures they show the antenna sticking through the car cover. Is there a hole in the cover for this? I was thinking the antenna would have to be screwed off to put the cover on.

Never mind I just scrolled down the NPD page and noticed they sell a grommet for the antenna.

The covers come with no hole for the antenna or mirror pockets. You can mark where you want your mirror pockets and send it back and they put them in free, you can also do the same for a sleeve for the antenna, or go with a grommet.

Exclamation 1966 HCS

My mother in law just gave me a 1966 Blue HCS 6R07C232883. It is in a repairable state but I don't even know where to start. Would anyone by chance have a little time to give me some tips? This car was a one person owner and now mine. I really cant find anything on line about who to trust for restoration on this car. I only want to restore this car to where it looks factory...

They have some decent ones from empire. their website has a computer generation tool so you can see what the cover looks like on and off the car pretty cool.
