Post My 67 Project... Info

Hey, name is Brent... I recentlly been givin a 67 mustang I6 not sure on the displacment.. automatic... but anyways.. it's a project... just wondering on a few things... my dad and I are intreasted in puttin a v8 and of course a M/T...
wats the best combo to go with.... gearing... rear end... like i said it's a project and a sunday night cruzer... not a strip car... just street

Why not look into some of the mods that can be done with the I6. Check out fordsix.com. After that do a T5 trans conversion.

so i was looking at it tonight and found out its a 200... lol

wants a v8 bad... u think i can put a 5.0 HO in there ( fox body drivetrain)..

If you are 16 (just guessing because of the screen name) I don't think you need a V8 car. You can fit a 5.0 and T5 or AOD in it. Will have to upgrade suspension and rear end in the process.

I converted mine from an I6 to a V8.

It is quite a bit more work than you might think though. I enjoyed doing it. Well most of it. LOL...

You have to change the engine, transmission, rear end, front springs and brakes, radiator, and quite a few other things like the radiator.

I went with a late model 302 but its carbed not EFI and a T5. The T5 fits great and is a perfect modifiication for a driver if you ask me.

The best gear ratio for a cruiser is going to be 3.50 or 3.70 gears with this setup.

i just finished my conversion on my 68 it took about a year, and lots of money, blood, and sweat.
