New project car
Hey all,
I want to start a project car..68 Mustang. It has been sitting for years and has only had 1 owner. I went to look at it yesterday and i was impressed until i opened the trunk. The right rear leaf spring was in the trunk. The grass is too hig to look under it but the rest from what i could see looked ok. all the numbers match and it has the sprint B option 289. and the price is ok. This would be my first restore and im not looking to enter this in Barret Jackson but give it another chance.
Is this worth it? Beyond repare? Please help.

It is being sold for 1000 firm. I will try to upload pictures tomorrow but I don't think I have any if the bottom. When I examined it the body was pretty good. The 289 was in great shape and fired but died. This is Ohio so I'm sure it is stuck. I'm concerned with the amount of rust I can't see. I know the trunk and
floor will need to be
replaced. But like I said it Ohio. What would be too much to repair

Do not fire up the engine again if it has been sitting for years.... Not a good idea at all.. Yes rust sucks I have learned the hard way after ripping up the carpet and what not. There could be rust hidden in all sorts of places. Check near the battery to my apron is shot cuz of the acid there to.

Welcome to the forum. How are your fabrication skills? Or are you going to let a body shop do the repairs? If you plan to do it your self you will save yourself alot of money in the long run. Pics would be a big help.
