Sorry I got it mixed up, what popped in my head was how they did the Flashback Mustang. They were given a manufacturers VIN from the car assembler and it worked with as a VIN for the SOS. But yeah the process is pretty easy in Michigan overall, you need your receipts and then you get that state issued vin for an extra $10 over normal titling.

Man I would love to get one, anyone have 15k to "donate" to my cause? I can cover the tax and extra $500, its cool.

What state are you in that requires an original VIN?

I'm in Kentucky my friend wanted a real vin on his car not a sticker from the state is why he did what he did.I know if the state gives you a vin they inspect the car before hand which can be a pain.It only took him a hour at the dmv to have his car tagged and legal and no inspection.

I guess that is a way to do it.

Now I wonder if you could get state VIN made into VIN tags the VIN stamped on the frame like the original if you really wanted.

I believe there is a place online that you can get the door tag remade since a lot of them are difficult to see now.
