sandblasting...

My cabinet came with glass beads which worked well, when that wore out we put in what I think is a slag product of some kind that is sold under the BLACK DIAMOND trade name, it is a heavier (more course) product.
The glass beads were great for blasting chrome, but imo for all other things we use it for the slag works better and lasts longer.
After a time in the cabinet, the Black Diamond is not so course anymore but it still works well.

I use glass bead in mine, sand wasnt a good thing, too much dust even with the collector system. Walnut shells work good for electrical parts like armatures. Slag is nice, but it wears the tips pretty fast. I can get a good rust removal with the glass beads.

i've used glass beads, walnut shells and aluminum oxide.
the aluminum oxide is the most aggressive and used the most.
if i could find a source for the mentioned black diamond, i would like to try that. aluminum oxide and glass beads are expensive.
