Ignition coil wiring

Ignition coil wiring
I am the third person to work on this engine assembly. The guy that built this engine must've been a major nimrod as we've had to re-do so many things.
The car is a '70 Mustang that has had a 351 Windsor put in it. Pointless distributor.
I am far enough along now to start her up, but not sure of the wiring to the ignition coil.
There are two wires coming from the distributor, one is black and the other appears to be red, or pink. Warning, I am color blind.
There are two others, one of which I think must go to the water temp sensor on the intake manifold, the other is a green wire that was taped and marked ground. There is also another wire that has been spliced, but comes from the wiring harness and appears to be red, or pink
Can someone please point me in a direction more correct than I am going to guess.

What kind of distributor? Can you Google for a wiring diagram for the distributor? The coil should get voltage from the ignition switch to the positive post on the coil. With points, this wire is a resistor wire. The negative post of the coil attaches to the distributor but to which of the wires I don't know. This is where the wiring diagram comes into play.

what i forgot to say was the wires from the negative side of the coil on my 65 goes to the distributor and the positive wire goes to the plus terminal on coil plus if you have an aftermarket tach it connects to the pos. side of coil as well
