How do I tune the Holley 5200 for my 67 six?
Hello everyone, this is my first post here!
I have read a lot about all the upgrades you can do to your 200 straight six and I have done about all of them but I need some help quick with tuning the Holley 5200 DGV series carb. It sits on a 67 200 newly rebuilt with a 69 3 5/8" intake. I got the 5200 from Tom at Stovebolt and I know I do not have the correct jets but they should be PRI=148, SEC=135, IDLE=55. I need the following help
1) Step by step tune up instructions for the Holley 5200 on a Ford 200
2) A place in Orange/LA county that has a good inventory of Holley jets
3) Also need to know if its possible to have the engine run smoothly without the correct jets?
Configuration: Fuel regulator set to 3.5PSI
Problem(s): Idle is rough even though I've timed it at 6 degrees before TDC. Also, had a nasty experience going through the break in procedure and toasted my Scott Drake nickle plated header when it turned RED HOT... OUCH!
Anyone with experience in this department?

Scarry.. maybe bump up your timing a little to smooth it out then set your idle needles to get the manifold vaccuum to the highest you can get keeping the idle adjusted properly. Try 8* see what happens. You may need to adjust your dwell in the distributor though.

Use this link, it will help you. The Holley 5200 and the Weber 32/36 are essentially the same.

About half way down there is a chart of different jet settings.
