Just thought I would say hi. Just joining in.

My wife has a 1965 Coupe with a 351 Windsor that she and her dad built a while back. We're not driving it at all right now and I want to start the process of doing a budget restomod.

My #1 goal is to make it reliable and safe for my wife to drive if she wants to. She's thought about selling it, but in the end she can't.

Not sure where to start on the rebuild.

Some things I would like to do.

Convert to automatic overdrive transmission.
Rewire so the wiring works right.
New brakes
Front suspension rebuild/upgrade

Since I have the time and want to be on a budget, I will likely try to get some of the more major parts out of the junkyard.

I don't weld, at least not yet, but do most other mechanical things.

I already do all the maintenance on our other vehicles which include.

2007 Chevy 2500HD Duramax
1988 Chevy Suburban 3/4 Ton
2000 Subaru Forester
2002 Cobalt 226 with 496 big block.

Any tips/hints/tricks are always appreciated.
