i started watching this new show called Alcatraz. the female cop (sarah jones) drives a 68 fastback Bullitt clone. anybody got any info on that car?

i think the creator JJ Abrams overstepped on selecting that vehicle for the show. jmo.

how did he overstep? maybe its a nod to the original bullit? that show takes place in San Fran as well. Its a nice looking car

i think maybe the car is too cool for sarah jones and her character.
maybe too much like Bullitt.

i saw her partner (garcia) is too big around the waist to get behind the steering wheel.

I just went to a classic car dealership by my house cuz they had a green fastback that iv been dreaming about. I talked to the guy and apparently its the car from the show alcatraz. When I Google searched it I found this thread so I signed up to reply to u guys. It's a 67 meant to look like the 68 bullit car. It has a 2 bbl 289. Its been modified to be driven in the movie. It has a brake pedal on the floor that activates one of two brake calipers on the rear wheels. Pretty cool lookin car. Looks original but has quite a bit of rust underneath.

So now u know where the car is.

I have some exterior pics if u want. I could always go back and take more. I'm best friends with the stunt guys that drove and coordinated the mustang and charge Chase in in that episode. They said that there were about 7 of them for the show and that they were crap. They used them in Canada for the filming. I mentioned that they wanted 30k for it and he thought it was ridiculous cuz they were rust buckets. And from what I saw under the car, that's true. It looks very stock though. Just hasn't been taken care of very well.
