Hello all
I bought a set of Australian 302 Cleveland heads on E-bay from Aus Ford Parts and sent Lawrence Ryan a money order to his P.O. Box in Battleground, Washington on June 12 for $505.
He is currently listed on e-bay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Aussie-Ford-351-Cleveland-cylinder-heads-2V-Closed-Chamber-351C-Australian-Aus-/271229464090?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f26892e1a&vxp=mtr
He sent me one e-mail thanking me for sending the m.o., but I have not heard anything from him since, as my e-mails and phone calls go unanswered. I would accept any number of explanations as to why he hasn't sent the heads yet, but no explanation has been forthcoming.

I will continue to post updates until I get a resolution to this transaction.

Never send a check or money order...with a credit card you can get it back with a phone call.

I opened a case with eBay yesterday and just received a notice that the items have been shipped, along with tracking numbers. A lot of aggravation could have been avoided with better communication from the seller.

Sending any payment through the mail, if the seller steals your money, constitutes mail fraud which is a federal offense. It would also be an easy conviction for the local PD.

I ended up eating $355 for a set of heads from a seller in Hawaii. They got a conviction for mail fraud on their record, and When I went to Pearl Harbor 9 months later I got my heads after calling a "friend" in the local PD.

Default Cracked

As you can see below, this is what I found when the heads arrived: "Crack" written in bold yellow paint, hash marks indicating said cracks and on the other side scrawled in yellow paint also, "mag ok". Naturally, I was dubious about the latter, so I carried them off to the machinist where they FAILED magnaflux, cracked exactly where indicated. Also found, a damaged area filled with some other metal, maybe nickel, and also separating from the base material.

The other looks OK.

Mr.Ryan answered my call promptly and claimed he was not aware of the condition of the head, because he didn't pack them. I could exchange it, but would have to pay return shipping - $77.00.

He couldn't send me another set right away, after all, "he has been burned before and you just can't trust people anymore".

My thinking is that this head should be scrapped and be removed from circulation. I also believe that he has the responsibility to inspect personally any merchandise and pay for return shipping if a defective part gets sent out. I also believe that he should have sent a replacement immediately, instead of delaying my project any longer.

I will update when the replacement head arrives and is checked...

Pursue it through ebay to get your money back and find another source. If they want it back, they need to send you a tag for it.
They never sent you what you ordered, unless you ordered cracked heads...
