Default New crate motor302 use vacuum or mechanical secondary for carb

I'm getting a 302 from Pheonix engines should have 330hp and my brother told me I should use a carb with a mechanical secondary. I'm not sure but I was looking at edelbrock performer 600cfm with electric choke it says it has vacuum or timed advanced secondary

What do y'all think will that be a good carb

I've used an edelbrock 600 cfm (1405 performance tune model) on a number of Ford small blocks and have not been disappointed.

I've been told that vacuum secondaries are good if you have an automatic transmission, and mechanical secondaries for a manual transmission.
