Default Value of 1966 Coupe?

I was referred here by a friend who not that long ago used these forums frequently for any number of questions. He stated that I would find a wealth of knowledge and that the best mustang minds he knew were at mustangforums.com
Anyway, now that my flattery is done, I do have a question. My father-in-law is trying to sell his 1966 Mustang Coupe and has been given several answers on where to list, how much to list for, etc... Our big concern is the "how much" part. Neither of us is really a gear head, so we can really speak in generalities about the car.
It's a straight six I believe, automatic transmission, all original except that I do believe the motor has been rebuilt. It's not in pristine condition, but the car is well kept, has always been garaged and any issues that it does have are very minor. I would bet that if someone bought the car about put between 500-1000 into it they would have themselves a very, very nice mustang. If pictures would help, I have about 15-16 that I could post.
At any rate, I am wondering if there is anyone that might be able to help. Basically we don't want to advertise the car for too much that nobody looks, but also for so little that people believe there are problems.
Thanks in advance!

Seth

Honestly i would put it for sell around 8k or best offer,The reasons i say that is its a coupe the most common body of the mustang and being a inline 6 hurts the value a little. The biggest one is the old car market is in the can,When the economy started to tank the old car market was flooded with nice cars and a ton of projects.People had to sell of their toys to make the bills.Take a look at craigslist around you see how much cars like his sell for right now will give you the best idea.

Why do people post questions and then never come back? They always seem to have questions about "How much money can I make on this?"

sounds like a project but 66 are highly produced so less desirable than a 65 but still a great car none the less
