Question 289 Weiand Stealth+Flowkooler water pump?

Hey folks, need some opinions here. Just recently put a new Weiand Stealth intake on my 289, and have also ordered a Flowkooler high-volume water pump (hasn' t arrived yet) and a new radiator to help with some overheating issues. A concern I have is with the fact that the intake has no rear water passages, and I'm wondering if the extra volume and pressure from the water pump might blow out the intake gasket around the now blocked-off water passage in the head. I put the intake on with a Mr. Gasket Ultraseal III gasket, and used a little extra Permatex Form-a-gasket gray sealant around the water passage, but have always been a little uncomfortable with the fact that it now has a "blind passage".

What do y'all think...will the Flowkooler likely blow out the gasket in that area? Obviously, that's NOT something I want to happen! Or..should I just stick with a new replacement OEM-style pump?

you shouldn't have any issues. i have a high volume (flowkooler) pump and a vic jr. that has no rear water passages as well.
