A modernized 1967 Convertible

The cool thing is I have time to consider all things like this. I have another project that needs to get done, but once that is over with, I might need to go another direction, entirely, with another car.
Here's my other project:
"Ava" is my grandfather's car, which he parked in 1942 because of the war, and which languished ever since. I need to get it on the road.
Since both of these projects are about the past, and are kind of, sort of "family obligations" my mind has been wandering over to something "for me." I have always wanted a coupe that went like hammers of h*ll.
And maybe a Mustang isn't the best palette for that.

Well, no pics, but I found some nice 5 lug 14" rims with as new tires on them, so I put them on today and got her back on her wheels. The car looks nice; the "Shelby Drop" combined with the heavier springs puts her at the same stance she had before. Pushing down on the front results in very little movement with immediate recovery. Can't wait to drive it. Needs brakes bled and figured out why it won't start.
I played with the steering just a touch and am impressed at how little effort it takes to turn the wheel with the car stationary. I can see right now that I am going to enjoy the new set up.

Well, I finally got the starting problem fixed (carb plus old gas, go figure) and got it out on the road. First thing I noticed is that the car no longer wanders as it goes down the road and the steering is much more precise. One thing, though, the Unisteer R&P rate of turn is much slower than the original; need to keep an eye on that, as it is easy to turn too wide when going around in close spaces. Otherwise, it runs well, and is fun to drive. It makes me long for a V8, though, as with the C4 auto, it is a "gutless wonder". But it still attracts attention wherever it goes.
My lovely bride pointed out that this is the first time I've driven the car since 1987, when I took her on a three day road trip just prior to getting married and getting deployed for the first time to Germany. It was a halcyon day and we truly enjoyed trying to burn through a tank of gas for no reason other than to have the wind in our hair and pavement beneath our tires.
