Paint it the color you want. I for one would like to see an original fastback in Gold. Nothing brings back more memories than the Hot Wheels colors of the 60's.

Default to add to the paint issue

Well last night didn't turn out as planned. I have taken the engine compartment down to bare metal and POR 15 it like the instructions say, then yesterday I sprayed on the POR 15 etching stuff then went to put on the POR 15 chassi black paint, it didn't stick well at all at 70 degrees, plus it looks glossy as ever. So will sand down the not so nice areas and attempt a nother coat of the stuff. Lots of man hours. Really want to have the engine bay standing tall because my Flaming River Rack n Pinion arrived along with my power front disc brakes, Want to have the paint right before installing all the new sexy components. UGGGGGG

Gold cars were popular when the world was infatuated with puke and sh@t colors. Ditch the gold, jmo of course.

I'm not much of a fan of gold, but do prefer original colors. I'd look at the original optional colors and see what you like.

Depends on what Gold it was... if it was Sauterne Gold or Anniversary Gold I'd probably think about something else... If it was Antique Bronze, I'd probably stick with it, and use some black striping for accent. Maybe a two-tone interior to go with it.

Love the gold. One of my favorite colors. I would keep that factory color!

Liberace, the very Vegas gay piano dude would love that color. Gold metal flake would also be nice on your Mustang and matching his and his bowling *****. How will you match it to the chrome? Paint the chrome Gold to? You're seriously in need of an intervention.

Somethings were painted Gold in the 70's, but that was a travesty and shall never happen again. If you wish to be different...Paint it Red. Now hear me out.

I once saw a Red caddy vert drive by. This dude had 4 ft high twin tails where the fins would have been, with rocket at the ends. Add to this a Gorilla suit with a fluttering and matching red cape. That's different, should you go that far? Maybe not but anything but Gold would be OK. Gold striping maybe(Hurts rentals).

There's a serious shortage of Grabber Orange, Starski&Hutch, Tiger striped and Black and White cow patterns. No Bernie Purple under any circumstances please.

Couple of the gold colors available in 66 look pretty good to me.
