Default Question about 71-73 style twist locks

I'm in the process of adding Quik-Latches to my '05 'stang that are based on the early 70's Mach type twist latches.

I've been looking at pics of cars from that era to see if there is a standard way the top of the latch normally orients when locked. I'm seeing them with one of the three lobes pointed straight forwards, the same but pointed straight backwards, and some with points faced in opposite directions towards the sides of the hood.

Is there a standard "correct" way these would have been faced from the factory?

I highly doubt it, I wanted to put 72 Mach1 locks on my hood. But I found out the ones from that time would not actually fit sad day. I am not to keen on the ones that are out there for the cars now.

That's why I went with the Quik-Latches, has the look of the old school twist locks, but can be made to fit the S197 cars:
