Angry Tax assessment

Thought I'd see how many of us have had this happen lately. KY has decided that they would make some extra cash my upping the assessments on classic cars. My 1966 Mustang with a 289 C4 that needs a paint job has jumped in assessment about $6,500.00 for 2014. Which I can not tag my usual car unless I pay the property taxes on my Mustang too. Which I do not drive. In fact, it's in need of restoration. I doubt I could sell it for $7,000.00 to tell the truth. Just wondered if anyone else has had this happen to them.

that sucks in Georgia its 20$ flat after you pay sales tax the first time on any car...but if you just have a bill of sale then you only have to pay 20$ on any car 1985 an older unless you want a title back then you have to pay sales tax

ohhh also i would drag the car somewhere like Carmax etc and have them write you a written offer to buy the car. then file a dispute on the valuation

In NM, I have mine registered as a 'horseless carriage' for $3/year.

When a car becomes and antique in Kansas, which I think is 35 years or so, it is assessed a flat $17.00 fee. $12.00 for taxes and $5.00 registration. But until then you'll pay out the ***. Yearly taxes on my Mustang run upwards of $600.00...in addition to the $35.00 registration fee.
