Default Started the New Year off right

After nearly 4 months of part time work, bolted the hood on the '65 vert and took it out for a shakedown & initial engine break-in, 1st time on the highway since '84. Engine runs great, trans shifts very smoothly, clutch smooth. Steering is surprisingly crisp, suspension tight, drives great. I had the radiator at a shop for flow & leak test, guy said it was not 100% but would probably be OK. Wrong. After about 30 minutes, the temp gauge climbed to the 3/4 mark so I returned to the garage. Got out the IR thermometer, top tank was at 200 deg. bottom at 160, cold spots in the core, tubes obviously plugged. I ordered a radiator, should be here tomorrow. In spite of the radiator problem, I am extremely pleased with the outcome.

Love it love orange! A friend of mine has a 65 orange vert also! They would look great in a photo op together!

Yes, it is. All the body panels are original and most of the paint. There is evidence of lower LH quarter panel repair and both quarters and the lower half of the doors have been repainted sometime in the past.

Update. Installed a new 3 row radiator from Advance Auto, temp now runs @ 175. Surprisingly, the radiator looks very much like the original. Had to get a shorter fan spacer due to the additional thickness of the radiator. If this Arctic weather and snow cover ever go away (not holding my breath) I'll get it out for a drive. My lack of optimism in a weather change is reflected in the fact that the car is currently up on stands.
