I'm in the process of changing my wiring harness, but before I get too far with the install, I thought I would remove the automatic brake pedal assembly on my 68 hardtop. How the heck does it come off? It looks like there is two lock nuts on a sleeve, but I can't seem to move them. Is there a special tool, or does the whole bracket assembly that bolts to the firewall and holds the brake booster and master cylinder have to come off? Doesn't look like that is possible.

Or you can trim off the excess pedal material to match the rubber pad and call it done...

Thanks, I have pedal assembly off and I will trim and use it with the new clutch pedal.

It didn't. But I got a wrench jammed on the brake pedal bolt and couldn't get it out and besides I had to remove the brake booster to drill hole and install clutch cable bracket for the clutch. Seems I can always find the difficult way!
