Default 67 Power Steering Pump Leak

P/S fluid leaking out of the large nut at back of 67 Ford type Pump. Do I have to completely disassemble the pump to replace the nut seal and gasket?

If it's the flare nut, just tightening it a bit may work.

If it's the fitting in the back of the reservoir/pump you could try tightening that up too. But it may need a new seal. The reservoir comes off the back pretty easy though.
I would get a whole seal kit and change them all while I had it apart.

Default 67 Power Steering Pump Leak

Thanks Boogie, I have a kit on the way. The pump has never been opened. This 67 has been sitting in my garage for 27 years, so seals and gaskets dry out, I suppose. A little story. I gave the car to my daughter for her 16. She joined the Air Force and left it in my garage. She retired after 25 years and tossed the keys to me. I'm having some problems getting it back up to speed to sell. (289, 4V, Front Disc, A/T, Deluxe Pony, P/S, 103K)

Can the pump be dis-assembled without special tools? I have a standard pulley puller, but not the tool to press it back on. Any suggestions, or should I go for the two special tools?

Default 67 Power Steering Pump Leak

Boogie,

Got the kit. Only used the rear pump outlet gasket and reservoir o-ring. The rear seal was cracked in four places and crumbled when it came out. No leaks, but forgot to etch the reservoir case to the pump to get it back together with the spout in the top position. Had to take the assembly in and out three times. Lessons learned.

Thanks for your help.
