Default GT350R.....ish

Well, it's been 4 years since I picked up this skeleton of a Mustang. Since that time its been inside an damp old garage, replacing the driver's side shock tower, adding the SCCA reinforcement plate on the shock towers, adding small triangles to brace suspension points in the engine compartment, getting sent outside to sit by the barn under a tarp for a couple of years then brought back into new heated garage (new house built), added a roll bar setup and now I'm finally back & getting the '66 project moving forward again. The goal is a R model.... ish. Street legal R model I guess I'd call it. I live about an hour away from Road America so of course I'll someday take it up there during track day to make some laps. Funds are tight so I'm only spending money on things that I need on it right now. I had a '65 fastback years ago that I unfortunately had to sell so this project is a bit of redemption I guess. Once I find a place to host pictures for free I'll upload some.

Thanks for the link!

Day one in the old garage. My son named the Mustang "Bandit" as it has only one eye.

Driver's side shock tower had multiple welds for cracks in it. So out with the old and in with the new.

Got a new (to me Miller 190 welder) so I decided to make a Monte Carlo bar with thicker walls. Gotta have fun making stuff for the car.

Installed a Autopower roll bar. I'm going to add door bars later after I get the seats installed.

Working on reinforcing the shock towers. Probably overkill but I'm having fun with the welder. I'm sure I'm adding probably 100 lbs of weight with all of the stuff I'm doing with the welder.
