Default Where to start

I have a 68 289 coupe, second owner mostly numbers matching. Has been sitting in the garage for 15 yrs and want to start working on it again and drive it. I does run and drive bu has some issues. Brakes need help, gas tank probably needs replaced or cleaned, engine needs tuned, etc. My question is, where would be a good starting point? Maybe start ordering/gathering parts? Thanks for the input. Also im not here much so i might not read these for a lil while.

doesn't matter where you start cuz you can't drive it until everything is fixed.

you can remove the filler neck and look inside the tank to see if it needs replacing.

even if the fuel pump works now it may die soon.

put a new carb kit in it because the power valve will be dried up.

if it needs wheel cylinders, measure the new wheel cylinder bores and compare them to the old ones to make sure they are the same size.

rock auto has very good prices.

How old is the gas? Brakes are important so definitely get those in good operation shape, simple tune up . . plugs wires cap and other parts, inspect front end, make sure tires are good, check all lights and turn signals, check all fluids and change the oil. Be safe out on the open road! Make sure it shifts OK and just cruise the first time out, listen to everything!
