throtle return spring
i rember a light spring on my carb when i removed the engine over 6 months ago. i hooked the carb up to the engine that is now in the car along with all the throttle linkage. i press on the gas peddle and it doesnt feel right. it feels like it it is way to easy. is this because there is no vacume or because im using a spring for the throttle thats way too weak.

You did not mention what year or type of carb you have. If this helps I have a photo I took before I took off my carb that shows the linkage and the spring. It is a 67 289 with a two barrel carb. I have found that it has been helpful to use my digital camera to take photos before dissasembly.
