Horn's Not Working Help?

I took my car to get it inspected and my horn ins't working. The guy at the shop Said that the problem is in the stearing collum. SORRY I cant spell. Do you have any clue what he is talking about? Is it costley to fix? Should I have them mount a button under the dash for now for the horn then fix it latter? Any advise will help.

Take the horn ring off and see if the little contacts are worn out. If they are, take a fuse, and break off the glass and just use the metal round tip to put on the contact. Or, you could use a soldering iron, and melt some new solder on it.

It won't be that hard to fix. You can just bridge the switch over when you get the wheel off to make sure it is that contact.

When my horn didn't work the contact surfaces just needed to be cleaned off
