Please Don't hate me...
 

Well I was looking for a V8 Mustang recently to replace my Inline Six (which was great), and I kept looking around and around, and even considered flying back to Texas for a V8 - the "Mustang Market" is a little bigger there. But I came across a 1968 Camaro RS/SS, and purchased it. I still have my 1970 Fastback, which is coming along, I have the interior almost done. But this Camaro was just what seemed right to buy at the time. I mean I love the mustang, and I will always be a ford fan, but I own a Chevy now too. It had all the options I wanted, a V8, A/C a solid body and paint. And no rust. So what do you guys think?

I'd like to own a 69 z/28 camaro one day, I love them, I would get an SS but it would be way too much! Congrats on the purchase, how much was it if I may ask.

EDIT: so it has a 302?

Nice find!! A friend of mine Louisiana is big bow-tie boy and LOVES the 68. Had to sell his when the twins came. Don't think anyone's going to hate you...envy you maybe, but not hate you. :D

Before I got my mustang , I was looking for a 67-68 Camaro. I wanted a 4 bolt main 327 with a 4 speed.

ok i was among thew many who looked at camaros (67 ss, with many options) before buying my mustang, along with my friend (big block convertable). now after buying mine i realized many things one its not wrong to like the 60s firebirds and camaros, because the lines on them are very VERY close to the lines on a 65-66 mustang, now i know there are several differences and many will object but next time yo seea 60s firebird/Camaro youll know what i mean.

Thanks for all the support guys I appericate it. I paid 16,000 for it. Ofcourse I didn't sell my Inline six, and make 16,000 off it. But I put it toward it, I got 6500 for my Mustang. And Scratchy if your talking about my 70, It doesn't have a 302, it doesn't have any engine. I bought it as a rolling chasis for around 700 bucks. It cost me more money to ship it to my new house, then it did to buy the thing. But after this late purchase it has to go on hold for a little while. I just did the interior, and spent the grocery money on the engine, and now looking for a transmission. Next is probably the installing the engine and trans. <-When I get it. But for the "To Do" List right now is a new stereo for the Camaro, and then a transmission for the 70 and Some new wheels and tires probably the Magnum 500s I seem to like those a lot on mustangs. But heres a little more info on my Camaro.

Pretty much stock 350 V8 with an Auto, because it will be a daily driver until my trailblazer runs again.
Its got the 3.55 Posi, but I don't know if that was orginal.
Transmission? The guy didn't know, his friend put it in before he bought it, so alls I know was that it is new/rebuilt. It runs and shifts smoothly. It has the greatest sound system in the world, which consist of two speakers and the A.M. stereo! It has Power Steering (thats a little bit of an upgrade from my Mustang) and power brakes (also an upgrade). It has A/C becuase I need it, don't tell me other wise[:@]. I think that pretty much covers it. I was considering a Z-28 but I would of been eating Mac and Cheese for five years, and it would of been all by myself :(. I also saw a Yenko Clone, and almost bought a 66 Chevelle SS, but was a grand or two more. I will post pictures when ever I find that stupid digital camera plugs -darn movers, probably stole that along with some of my booze.

If I could find one(RS/SS) for a reasonable price, I'd get it(provided SWMBO let me dip into the cash account, of course*L*).
