I picked a color, whaddya think?

This is the blue I finally decided on, Vivid Blue Pearl. The car was born Silver Jade (green) and was red for at least 20 years. I think she's gonna be a looka. :D

RE: Check it out, 69 Mach color choice

I found the color on a 2006 Acura RSX. Needless to say it looks better on the Mach. I'm not sure whether I'll leave the car one solid color or put it back to a factory look with the blacked out hood and stripes. I wanna see what it looks like one solid color before I decide, I can always add the factory scheme after. This is by no means going to be a stock restoration when I'm finished.

Your car was probably painted Acapulco blue. Check out this site for factory color choices for all years. Have you pulled a Marti report on her?

Holidays? I'm not familiar with the term.

It is a term that is used when painting walls. It is a small spot that is missed due to the roller not getting the spot.

Thanks for clarifying, lol. The car is still being prepped for paint but the fenders are ready to go. I wanted to see what the color would look like on the car. I think it's gonna pop when it's finished.

(IMO)
Absolutely stunning color! Definitely needs the black out hoods and stripes.
Holy crap that is going to look gorgeous! [sm=hail.gif]

You of course will be putting together a Gallery when it's done, so the rest of us can drool.

Good luck,

Very nice color.

I guess this is one of the hardest decisions we all will or have faced when restoring, resto-modding our stangs. I know that I have been up and down the color pallette trying to decide what color I want to do my 72 when it is time. It is currently teal I think ford called it Caymen. I have thought about just getting it redone that color but then I love the ford Sonic Blue, and everytime I see another mustang with a great paint job I wonder how mine would look that color.

How do you decide?

RE: I picked a color, whaddya think?

I believe the color choice starts with what you want the car to be. If your car will be restored to original factory specs, I think you should pick a color from the original choices. If the original color is pleasing to you by all means go with it, the car will probably be slightly more valuable with the original color applied if being restored to stock. If you prefer to restore the car in what some call a "restomod" fashion, upgrading various systems and such, you have a tougher decision when it comes to color choice. Yeah, you can paint the car any damn color you want, but be careful because some colors simply don't do these cars justice. In the end for me it was the toughest decision I had to make.
