Can I connect directly to the battery?
Okay here goes...does the wireing for the horn button follow the steering colum all the way down through the firewall, or does it exit under the dash somewhere?
-Okay I ammended the title, and was wondering on where to draw power from please look at the bottom for my latest question.

help on the wiring diagram
Okay I'm looking at what appears to be the 1967 wiring diagram written in greek, no wait it's aramaic, anyway, what do the wires for the horn look like, color codes etc, and where do the begin go through and terminate?
I took a look at all the wiring diagrams on the FAQ page and still have some questions. I took the steering wheel off, but can't figure out how to get the danged terminal (where all the wiring attaches for the flashers, horn, emergency lights etc.) off. Is there a trick to getting that off? Also where do the wires come out in the engine compartment, is it the same place the steering colum exits?

RE: help on the wiring diagram
Couple pics of steering column and wire bundle exit...
steering column wire bundle connection...
I think the horn wire is yellow to the contact in the steering ..

RE: help on the wiring diagram
okay I took some pics of the set-up I have, next I'll have to pull the steering wheel off to see what going on with all the connections to the turn signal/horn switch. (man this will have to wait until the weekend!)
First is a close up of the harness, then a far shot, then a wierd connector that I have no idea why it's there, man the PO did some messed up stuff to the wiring.

NO electronics gurus?
Wow, no-body can help, guess I'll just be buying the new painless wiring system, and a new turn signal switch and hopefully that will work, but man that's a lot of cash to just fix the danged horn. Maybe until then I can just make my own horn switch. Anyone think that will work. Maybe if I attach the horn to a power feed somewhere and then a button to that it should work.

Will this work?
Okay I've given up on fixing the horn the correct way, can't find the error in the wiring. So I was wondering if this will work.
I'm planning on just wirining direct to the horns either to the horn switch, or another switch I'll just have to fabricate. Now where should I draw power from? Can I connect directly to the battery or should I draw power somewhere else, and are the horns themselvs grounded? Oh and if I do use the exsisting horn button, how the heck do I get the danged wire up the steering colum? Can someone post an exploded diagram of the steering colum for me. I've got one more conventional fix before I try it this way. I just need to be able to pass state inspection, after that it's a total re-wire when I get a danged J-O-B!

RE: Will this work?
Let me put my electrician cap on....
1. You can take power from the battery
2. the horns have their own ground (suppose to anyway)
3. Make sure you use an inline fuse
I don't own a 67 but doyou have power on the yellow wire? Just by looking at the schematic (english version) yellow should be hot. If you do; your problem is probably in your steering wheel/horn button mechanics
You can test your horns individually with a jumper wire;
1. unplug the wire from the horns
2. connect jumper to the battery first;
3. touch the power post on the horn
4. if it honks --good horn and goodground)
5. if it doesn't honk -- bad horn or bad ground
