I used a Be Cool in my 66. The fit is good but I don't like how they did the filler cap.

It's hard to get anything to work really well with the opening being so small.

why aluminum?
unless I were going some custom extra large size, IMO it doesnt make that much difference with aluminum vs standard provided it is in good condition and has a decent shroud. the biggest problem with the 66 is that the radiator is not wide enough not teh material it is made out of.

the only real issue with custom is fitment and hoses to suit.
aluminum copy of the stock radiator size and shape is easier to work with.

I have a Jeg's branded radiator. It's good quality, but doesn't have a drain valve...[:@]

im going aluminum for a few reasons....my car is going to be a weekend driver / show car / i can take it anywhere car.

i have a 289 bored out to a 306 pushing 400hp so i need to make sure the cooling system works, plus i dont like the stock radiators (overheat to much).

agree it looks better if you are prepared to polish it all the time, but in my case I'd have to paint it black to keep it hidden from the road ***** (we have pretty strict registration rule for left hand drive cars)

in my experience the rust and scale from the block and heater doesnt discriminate between alum and copper core when it comes to blocking them up

niiiiiice. I hear what you are saying. My 302 is an est 380hp and it cools ok with a standard rad and a shroud, even on the track. It gets a bit too warm on a hot day in traffic, but its never boiled out on me. With no a/c i try to avoid driving it on those days anyway.

If i could, i would put a custom alum rad in, but to ensure its effectiveness in all conditions i would
1. still use a shroud regardless of fan choice
2. make sure there was no other way for air to get past the radiator frame except thru the rad and
3. cut the rad support frame where the std rad mounts to allow fitment of a wider radiator.
4. consider an electric water pump.
