Default Wiring mes

I have a 68 coupe 302 2v (engine not original and not sure of the year) The wiring going from the starter solenoid to the (2 wire) alternator is a frayed nightmare. I have to replace the whole thing. There seams to be two separate harness's that meet in the middle; one being a; 2 male, 1 female plug on one end and vise versa on the other end. Can I buy these two pieces? Also, the car doesn't seam to have a voltage regulator that I can find. I have purchased one but am not sure how or what it is wired into. Any help will grateful. Thanks, Scott

Check the alternator to see if it a one wire deal. If it is there is no need for the voltage regulator.

It is a 2 wire alternator so now I have to figure out how to wire the dang thing up. Also, I know the wiring harness that goes to the alternator is the alternator harness (of course) but is the one it connects to into the starter solenoid the Headlight Harness? Thanks again, Scott

Check the FAQ site. There is a link to wiring diagrams. The second diagram shows a pretty good shot of the charging system.
