Vinyl Roof removed,RUST.take alook
Got up the nerve today and pulled the Vinyl off my 67 . I didn't think it was this bad.I guess I am going to have to replace some metal in some spots. Any advice or suggestion on what to do would help.Check the pictures out
Dec 14, just got back from Body shop its going to cost 1000 bucks for rust repair and 500 bucks new vinyl roof. They said it would more if I wasn't putting he vinyl back. I will have to call back for that price tomorrow .Maybe I will just leave the vinyl off and get the roof ready for paint. There goes the buget for awhile .

i lived in the dallas area 32+ years, its not uncommon at all to get a couple ice storm and a little snow every winter. soaring do you remember the heatwave of 1980? i was over 100 degrees for almost 1 1/2 months? i can still rember frying a egg on the roof of a black 79 trans am. i thought it was cool till it took the clear coat off!

There is always the SAWZALL....
I got lucky with the Cougar being a california car. it has a nasty residue on it, and some pitting but no holes through the sheetmetal.
Not sure what you should do, other than use the rust converter stuff of your choice and put the vinyl back on.
