X2 on the ground strap to the chassis. On my '85, the bolt came loose on the body and chasing that down was an absolute nightmare. As for the starter, stay away from that remanufactured Kragen junk. BTDT. It truly is a game of chance when you go that route. I'd spend the extra money on a new, quality starter. Also, just to rule out your battery, you could make sure the terminals are real clean and make good contact. Also, instead of the 100-amp start, try jumper cables from another vehicle.

I wouldn't forget to tighten the intake bolts, though. Is it too late to get some good allen headed chromies?

those boltsin the pic arestock bolts and i broke one in the head, so after i drilled it out i went out and got all new bolts. im thinking before i put more fluids in there, i think ill unbolt the water pump real quick and put fresh bolts, theres one or 2 lookin a little iffy IMO i wont wanna break on in the block. the bolt in the head made me skip a beat, but i guess the first bolt does to everyone, my dad said when he had his Clevo that was in his 73, he too pulled it when hewas 18/19 and he broke 5 bolts in the passenger side head when he was putting his longtube hookers on. i guess im lucky that this is the same enginehe had, cause he is like a complete expert with this engine

You can get the blak ones and clean them real well, then paint 'em. I have a set of satin finish bolts from ARP that I use. Look good. Advance Auto also has some of these similar style bolts, so check them out.
If you have them nearby, a place called Fastenal is great for having a wide variety of bolts.

That is the correct Ford Blue....
There are actually two ford blues I guess, his is "Ford Blue" and there is a darker once called "Ford-Mercury Blue" or "Ford Dark Blue" depending on who you talk to. My engine was originally the same color as atom's, but I like ford dark blue better so I had it painted that color when I had it rebuilt.
Here's mine for a color reference.
