Before I get too aggressive with removing my heater control *****, just want to make sure there is nothing I’m missing.

I’m installing a Vintage Air in my ’69 and the directions require me to change the face plate. In order to do that, I have to remove the control *****. I tried popping them off but they won't budge. I squirted some liquid wrench thinking it would help, but still won’t budge.

Before I get to forceful, just want to make sure that there is nothing I missing or a trick in getting those off. They do just pop off – right?
