Default Plastic radio repair plate

Has anyone used one of these things? my dash is cut up pretty bad, but i can't weld and i can't afford to pay someone else to do it for me, so i was thinking of trying one of these out, but i don't know if it'll look respectable.

Are you talking about plastic around the radio? Does this just cover the old one? Im confused because you say radio in the subject then dash in your post.

sorry about that. i didn't really think the question through. i'm talking about the plastic pieces that they sell to cover up the cuts made for an aftermarket stereo, like this http://mustangsunlimited.com/itemdy0...atKey=EMUSTANG

I've never seen one on a car so I don't know. I may think about using one though, 'cause mine was hacked at one point. Hopefully someone can answer. I'm also curious.
