In order:

1969 Mach1 Cobra Jet w/ Shaker hood! To me, it is amazing how timeless and current the styling of the fastback in '69-'70 still is. Look at other cars from those years and you will see how dated they look.

1967-1968 Convertibles! Probably the best looking convertibles in the entire Mustang lineup.

1965 GT Fastbacks! The car that Shelby wanted for his Mustang. This car rocked the world in 1965 with it's looks.

The best one is the one you own. Second best is the one you used to have, and third best is the one you are going to get when you find it at the price you can afford.

+1 well said!

As the owner of a 1969 Mach 1, can I tell you guys how cool it is to hear these coments about it? Makes me smile! I've only got the 351 but it's still cool to hear the praise.

I'd say if you want a comfortable, strong easy to drive Mustang it would be a 69/70 fully equipped 428C/J. But if you want the NUMBER-1..it changed the preception of what a Mustang was you would have to choose the 1965 GT-350. That car was a lesson in how to turn a 'chick-ride' into the most macho kick-*** car of the mid-1960's.(barring Cobra's from that)

i absolutely love the sound of the 289. the 427's were some of the coolest engines ever especially the SCJ's the 429 semi hemi's were pretty bad too tho. i dont own a classic but i will eventually i just dont have any where to build one. my uncle had a 69 mach1 that he ended up selling for 75 grand. he also sold a 71 340 cuda all orginal for about 340 grand and then he went out and bought 98 cobra drop top twin turbo'd and nossed up with all that extra classic cash. man i need a cool car lol.

naaaaaaaaaaaaah!

the best one is the one you'd steal for...how many vending machines would I have to rob to afford a GT350R????

Second best is the one you'd sell the mother-in-law for...and that'd be anything with a pony on it.

there is no third

My favorite is the car I'm still kicking myself in the rear for selling: 1965 fastback. 2ND choice is the 65 vert I still have. 3RD is the 67 fastback GTA that I found for 350.00,that was so far gone there was no hope for it.
