canton 7qt oil pan worth the money??
I am in the middle of build a streetable 302. This car will be more of a daily driver then anything. My question is has anyone used a Canton T-sump street oil pan with the windage tray? If so is it worth the money? My engine set up is stock rods with ARP bolt, Hyper dished pistons, AFR 185's or 165 not decieded yet, Air-gap intake and Demon or edlebrock 600ish carb. I am on a budget but, dont want to cut corners that will cost me down the road. Any other input on the engine build would be great, this is my first. So please help me pop my cherry (on the engine of course)!!

I would probably say not necessary for your application, but definitely not since you are on a budget. Spend your money elsewhere like a good set of headers.

it's always recommended in magazine's but you don't really need it unless you're spinning to race revs ( i.e. racing, duh) or you have a huge stroke in there and need a bit of room. the tray will not get you that seat of the pants feeling if that's what is assumed. the deep sump is just to prevent oil starvation under hard driving and you'll probably have a fair idea you're starving it (i.e. you just **** yourself from what you did). save your money and good luck

ya, id say its not necessary, but of course its only going to help. If you plan on staying on the street (assuming no street racing) youll never know its not there. Also, go with the 165 heads. 185s will just be a waste of money and not perform as well under 4500ish rpm.
