Default Best place to mount a 3 point seat belt.

I have seen some incredible points to hook up the third point on a 3 point seat belt, and have heard testimony that the third point should be hooked up to the roof of our classic Mustangs. If you look at pictures of guys who have that third point hooked up to the roof, you quickly realize that if in a very damaging wreck, and especially a front end collisionn, the passenger and driver would be decapitated by the belt. Ford Mustangs have realized this disparity for several years now, so with their newer cars, they take the seat belt back down to the shoulder area. Look at my 03 Mach1 belts and see how the industry has solved this problem with the thing on the corner of the seat back that takes the belt down to the shoulders of the passenger and driver. That back compression in case of a wreck when you have the third point at the A frame as in the convertible 3 point system is crap. There is no scientific or researched proof to prove that.

It not only makes it easier to reach it, it puts it at the exact point where it needs to be to make your left shouler stick to the back of the seat and not your nose mating with the horn button.

On my sister's '65 coupe she had it mounted like this picture shows. She ended up T-boning an SUV at about 35mph and she didn't get hurt.

I don't consider this a decapitating configuration. It is mounted to the roof. This is 1000x better than the OEM belt that puts the steering wheel in your face or spears your chest.

Which kit did you guys go with? I've been thinking of the one from Mustang's plus with the chrome buckle, now on sale for $219, down from $259. If it matter, I have a '65 fastback.
