Default Bringing Exertior Paint Back to Life

I would lile to bring my 27 year old piant back to life. I called the previous owner - he wasn't sure if there was a seperate clear coat appliaction. If that is ture can one mess up a paint job by color sanding. Would buffing alone get out hte fine sctrtches?

Clear coat didn't exist 27 years ago. Use a white buffing compound with a buffer to get the top coat of crap off, then start using the Meguiars three step method to bring her back to life.

If you have some rough spots that do not come out with buffing you can wet sand with 2000 grit but take it easy.

your cars is black correct timelocked? if so get buffer(makes sure u can control the speed somewhere around 1000rpm) with a black foam pad and some 3m finishing glaze for dark colors and buff it becareful on the edges and dont burn thru. makes sure to wash the car first so theres no grit otherwise it will look like jumped on the hood[:@]
