cost of valve job?

Not sure if it includes a resurface. I dropped them off and told him to to through the entire head and tell me what it needed. Hesaid it needs a valve job and didn't mention anything else.

if they dont tell you to get a resurface they are a pretty lame shop. we resurfaced EVERY valve job, and every block that we did if we were building to motor.

its stuff like that which comes back to bite you later.

Maybe in his mind its just a given to do a resurface, but all he told me was a valve job. They've been in business for like 30 yrs and build everything form drag to circle track engines so i know threy're not lame. Just when everything in the heads is perfect and only needs a valve job, almost 300 dollars seems like alot. I have a cool little dyno video from his shop but can't post it b/c its a mpeg file.

i just hope for that price they'll come back with a nice and shiney deck surface, and positive style valve seals installed instead of the umbrellas that are garbage

cost me 330.00 at bailys in mesa az,,,,,,2 burned valves,,,valve seals, hard seats put in, decked, along with the usual,,,,and painted no less,,car runs great,,,also got a solid compression check as to whats going on with rings

330 isnt too bad with the hard seats installed and two valves replaced
