Glen, I beg your indulgence on this. WhereI store my car the owner has a Chrysler imperial 57 and he want to change to electronic ignition but as it is 6V he has found no products, does anybody know of where he can purchase electronic ignition for his ride? Please PM with the answers as this is un-mustang!!

Are you positive it is a 6Volt car?

Try pertronix.com They list 'some' applications for 6V positive and negative ground systems.

I thought '55 was the last year for 6 volt systems in Mopar cars.

Yeah, during the 40's and early 50's the 6 volt was the norm. Big and fat batteries, but not much cranking power.

I also thought that by 57 they had gone away from the 6v system...im about 95% sure that they switched over in 1956, as the i know that the 300s were 12v
